MASC members are invited to join a free webinar on March 27 "Using Early Warning Indicators to Support Every Student", to hear from experts and practitioners about how schools are using early warning systems (EWS) that are updated daily to address core challenges like reducing chronic absenteeism and assigning tiered interventions, as well as promoting students’ social-emotional learning (SEL) and college/career readiness.
Dr. Robert Balfanz, a pioneer for using early warning indicators, will share his evidence-based models for identifying and monitoring at-risk students through early warning systems. Superintendent Dr. Drew Echelson and administrators from Waltham Public Schools, along with an administrator from Metro Nashville Public Schools, will discuss how their districts are using data indicators to prepare their students for success in the 21st century.

Michelle will open with an overview of police presence and purpose in schools, and how this position can support positive youth development. She will offer ways in which school districts can select the right Officer for their school, how a well-trained Officer can benefit school districts, and ways the Officer can assist in developing a safe and supportive environment for children. Poverty in Massachusetts:
On Wednesday, January 31, MASC's Divisions IV (Central MA) and VIII (Voc-Tech Districts) will host a discussion regarding Cyber Attacks, the impact on Massachusetts school districts and policies to help districts deal with them.
All school committee members, Superintendents, Technology Administrators and others who are interested are invited to join with Division IV and Division VIII at this meeting to participate in the discussion of these important issues. There is no charge to attend this meeting.
