Charting the Course - June 2021 Program

For the convenience of our members, the June 2021 MASC Charting the Course program will be available for members in both in-person and online formats. The options for attending are detailed below:

  • Attend the program in person on June 12 at Nashoba Valley Technical School (get directions here)
  • Join the class online for the full day on June 12 (8:30am - 4:00pm)
  • Join the class online for two half days on June 12 and June 19 (8:30am - 12:00pm)

The programs will require pre-registration in order to certify attendance. Members who register for the online program will receive the link via email to join (same link for 6/12 and 6/19). All members who register for and attend the full program in any format will receive certification that they have completed the state mandated training requirements for new school committee members. Day on the Hill

Day on the Hill State House Banner

Day on the Hill is MASC's annual legislative advocacy day. Typically, this event brings hundreds of school committee members, superintendents and student leaders to the State House in Boston to meet with the executive and legislative leadership as well as local senators and representatives. This event is an increasingly critical moment for MASC members to advance the message of the value of public education and ensure that legislators and other key decision/policy makers understand the issues and challenges that you confront and that they can support.

Friday, March 19th, 2021 from 8:30 – 10:30am

MASC’s Divisions IV and V welcome all school committee members to hear from and share with the legislative delegation representing the CAPS Collaborative member districts. The program will provide an opportunity to discuss short-term and long-term needs for our public schools now and in the years ahead. This is an important chance to highlight what our students need to thrive and achieve their full potential in the future.

February 23, 2021 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m

MASC’s Division X welcomes all school committee members to a special presentation by the distinguished educator and resource expert on bias and cultural proficiency, Dr. Kalise Wornum.

In response to the participants in our November program, we have invited Dr. Wornum back to follow up on her session with the MASC membership last year to share her insight and guidance on diversity and equity for educators.
