MASC Student Leaders Workshop (September 15, 2018)

In conjunction with the September 15 new member orientation for school committee members, MASC is hosting a special program for student school committee members and other student leaders interested in the work of school committees.

Students will be briefed on the role of the school committee and engage in interactive discussions about:

• Strategies for being an effective student member
• Emerging issues for students in Massachusetts
• Advocacy and students
• Current advocacy initiatives by students and their goals
• What we have learned from other students

Lunch will be provided. While school committee members are welcomed to invite their student representatives to this orientation, students may attend on their own. MASC does not charge students for their participation; we ask only that students register in advance so we can obtain an accurate meal count.

MASC welcomes students not only as possible future school committee members, but also as the next generation of leaders for Massachusetts!
