- Making the Most of Your Collaboratives (Hyannisport West)
The Southeast Collaborative Regional Organization (SCRO) is a network of nine educational collaboratives and their school districts in southeastern MA focused on helping to meet the individual needs of local districts through a model of regionally based, high quality, cost effective programs and services. The purpose of the SCRO is to operationalize an alternative approach to regionalization that involves the leveraging of the educational collaboratives for the execution and promotion of 3 types of activities: 1.) Collaboration (sharing resources, personnel and services); 2.) Consolidation (to take advantage of economies of scale); and 3.) Coordination (of DESE regional initiatives) throughout the region. Participants will benefit from a discussion about a project that serves as a model for other areas of the state as well as DESE initiatives.
